Progress on steves tank

After a few busy days I've finally managed to get a few hours on steves tank, sprayed, sanded and pinstriped by hand (must respect for pro Pinstripers, it ain't easy!) still a few bits to do then on to clear coat

Chopper solo flame seats

This came in as a brand new Le pera solo seat, the customer wanted the base powdercoating black with black leather and stitched red/yellow flame design

Ostrich tool roll

Here is a tool roll which was custom made in tan ostrich over a heavy gauge tooling leather with laced edges, it's pretty large to fit in waterproofs and is mounted behind the front wheel to the down tubes

Dyna Flame Job

Heres a recent job i completed for a dyna custom, probably one of my most enjoyable seats to do...i love stitched flames they have that really classic look without being too in your face.

Genuine leather really does make a difference to the look when stitching, i would always recommend this if your thinking of any stitched design

Tuck n Roll Fakes

Thought id post a heads up regarding 'tuck n roll' seats...ive been having a look around and id say 60% of bobber seats advertised as tuck and roll are fakes.

What i mean by this is it isnt true tuck and roll....see here for the one ive seen that is a fake

If you look here you can see this is just a single piece of padded material with lines stitched down which gives a similar effect but is a far quicker way of doing the traditional tuck and roll technique....these are often for sale for the same price as a proper tuck and roll seat but are made much faster.

You can always tell a cheaper version, if you can see the stitches running down the main area of the seat your being cheated! :)

Classic Bates Style Seats

We have come up with a range of Bates style bobber solo seats, these are very close to the originals.

We have even gone to the lengths to distress them to give that bit more authentic look!

Available in both pleated and plain and in 1" & 2" thickness foam. Colours are currently black and white but more are to come shortly.

These are exclusively for sale through the dirtybobbers website.

Well lots has been happening in the shop lately...

Heres some recent photos of the bobber project so far

-Installed wheels
-Purchased/cut and modified the mud guards
- Made up a seat pan and sorted some springs (yet to mount this properly)
- Changed the flat drag style bars that were on the original bike.
- Managed to swap this battered petrol tank for a virtually brand new sporty tank.
- Purchased a new black headlight ready for mounting

The bobber is coming to life!

Managed to strip the engine from the bike, just a case of cleaning it out and getting it polished, not the easiest of jobs bearing in mind it hasn't been done for 30 odd years.

Busy busy busy!

One thing guaranteed to put a halt to all seat work, a soaking wet seat!

Didn't leave until 8pm, busy trying to get a seat dry so the cover and gel pad can be fitted. Unfortunately the water has been in the seat so long it had rotted the foam and it literally fell apart when the cover came off!

On a plus point I finished Chopper dave's new second seat

Chopper project

I'm awaiting the arrival of my 1979 GS425 that I won on ebay.

This will be the first chopper project I've started so should be interesting, I'm planning to show the start to finish process right here online.

The aim is to go from the standard bike to a classic bobber style so let's hope I dont make a balls of it!
